Lost Planet 2 multiplayer demo out now إصدار ديمو اللعب الجماعي من لعبة لوست بلانت الثانية

Capcom has released a new multiplayer demo for Lost Planet 2 which features a competitive 16 player map called Turbulent Jungle. The demo is out now on Xbox Live (537mb), but will be out tomorrow on the PlayStation Network (as part of the weekly update).

This is an excellent opportunity for people to realise their dreams of having a battle royale  in a jungle, with mech suits. Or maybe that’s just me. Either way, fans of the original Lost Planet will really dig this game and for people on the fence, this demo gives a good idea of how the gameplay mechanics work. Lost Planet 2 is scheduled to be released on the X360 and PS3 on May 11th; PC version is slated for this Fall.

Windows Phone 7 announced إعلان نظام تشغيل الهواتف النقالة الجديد ويندوز فون7

Speaking in Mobile World Congress 2010 convention, currently held in Barcelona, Spain, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer announced the next generation of Windows Mobile OS, dubbed Windows Phone 7 Series. Hailed as a fresh approach to phone software, distinguished by smart design and truly integrated experiences that bring to the surface the content people care about from the Web and applications.

Microsoft is exclusively bringing together Xbox LIVE games and the Zune music and video experience on a mobile phone. Phones running on this new OS should arrive in retail stores by holiday 2010.

As always, any resemblances between Phone 7 and the iPhone is completely unintentional, yet it supports high resolution, capacitive, multitouch displays with gestures. No need for using a stylus. No Adobe Flash support. Partnership with AT&T and Orange.

The official press release goes on to promote the features of the OS saying:

Steam dukes it out with Sony & Microsoft شركة ستيم للتوزيع الإلكتروني للألعاب تقترب من سوني ومايكروسوفت

Steam released some interesting year end figures yesterday, for 2009. The online digital distribution platform developed by Valve now boasts over a thousand games by more than 100 developers.

The real kicker is their installed userbase, which now exceeds 25 million worldwide. To put that into perspective, Sony has 38 millionpeople registered to their free online service of PSN for their PS3 and PSP; Microsoft has over 20 million logging on their XBL service for X360, paying $50 a year. And while we’re throwing around huge numbers, Blizzard’s behemoth WoW has over 11.5 million customers playing roughly $15 a month.

Steam has certainly come a long and prosperous way from it’s rocky start with Half-Life 2 nearly 6 years ago.

PlayStation Network: 31 million served بلايستيشن نتورك تخدم 31 مليون مشترك

PSN

Celebrating it’s 3 year anniversary, Sony has released the latest figures of it’s PlayStation Network service. The free service, as opposed to the $50 annual fee of Xbox Live, has over 31 million registered users. Last we heard, Xbox Live has over 20 million subscribers worldwide. While initially buggy, PSN has come a long way since. Certain things, mainly Party Chat, is something that PSN still needs to catch up to XBL in terms of features, but otherwise this is one of the better online services next to Steam. Good job Sony, now about the severe lack of PSN avatar pictures…
