Top 10 selling games in Kuwait الألعاب العشرة الأعلى مبيعاً في الكويت

Al Ghanim Electronics in Kuwait has sent us their list of top 10 selling videogames from Jan 2010 and till end of May 2010. Those numbers are compiled from the sales of their 15 outlets spreading all over Kuwait. Those figures show how the Kuwaiti market prefers soccer and FPS games.

Top 10 selling games in Kuwait in 09 أكثر عشر ألعاب مبيعاً في الكويت لعام 2009

And finally Al Ghanim Electronics in Kuwait finished crunching their numbers and sent out their list of top 10 selling videogames in their 15 outlets spreads all over Kuwait for the whole of last year, 2009. Yet again, there is no independent entity tasked to provide consumer and retail information, based on actual sales data from retailers and distributors as well as consumer-reported purchasing behavior, and so we had to rely on data provided from major retailers in the Middle East.

[Kuwait] X-cite MW2 Challenge concluded نهائيات بطولة اكس- سايت في لعبة مودرن وارفير

The second round of the X-cite 2v2 Modern Warfare 2 Challenge took place last week in X-cite Marina Mall, in the city of Kuwait (in the country of Kuwait). Over the course of two days, more than 60 teams battled it out in Modern Warfare 2 to climb the ranking, aiming to be crowned the champions of Kuwait. Eight winning clans were qualified for the Grand Final, slated to take place in the X-cite Al-Rai Showroom, on the very next day, Feb 6, 2010.

[Kuwait] Battle it out in the X-cite MW2 challenge نهائيات تحدي لعبة مودرن وارفير في الكويت

“Battle it Out in the X-cite 2v2 Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Challenge, where top players from the around the Kuwait region will be given the opportunity to display their skills and take home attractive prizes. The competition started on January 29 , 2010 and should conclude by February 6 2010. The qualifier rounds took place in Jabriya Mall – X-cite by Alghanim Electronics Express Store , Marina Mall  – X-cite by Alghanim Electronics Express Store , where the semis/finals will be held in the Al Rai Alghanim Electronics Showroom.

[Confirmed] PES2010 starts selling in Kuwait تأكدنا من الخبر: بدء بيع ‘برو إفليوشن 2010’ في الكويت

[Update] Our sources in Kuwait have confirmed this news, and it’s the original package, shipped from Europe.

According to Neocrisis news site, a user named Mezzo posted an article showing some pictures, apparently taken in Kuwait, showing some shop windows stating the possibility of purchasing the latest Konami’s PES 2010 soccer game, few weeks before the international release date. The text does not indicate whether this was the full version or a preview code or even a demo. Unfortunately we can not verify this at the moment, but we are working on it.

“The game is being sold for 40 Kuwaiti Dinars which equals to $140 USD. The craziest part is that even with such a high price tag the game is flying off the shelves. Just like the rest of the world, they sure Love Soccer.“

تحديث: أكدت مصادرنا في الكويت الخبر – بعبوتها الأوروبية الأصلية

ذكر موقع ‘نيوكرايسيز’ الإخباري أن أحد المستخدمين ويدعى ‘ميزو’ قد نشر مقالاً يعرض  فيه بعض الصور مأخوذة من نافذة عرض أحد المتاجر الكويتية ويقول أنه صار بالإمكان شراء لعبة للكرة ‘برو إفليوشن 2010’ –منتج ‘كونامي’ الجديد- قبل موعد إصدارها دولياً ببضعة أسابيع، ولم يوضح الخبر ما إذا كان المقصود الإصدارة الكاملة أم العرض.  وللأسف، لا يمكننا تأكيد هذا الخبر أو نفيه في الوقت الحالي.

“تباع اللعبة بسعر 40 دينار كويتي بما يعادل 140 دولار أمريكي، والغريب أنه على الرغم من ارتفاع ثمنها يتهافت اللاعبون في أنحاء الكويت على شرائها. يبدو أنهم يحبون كرة القدم مثلهم في ذلك مثل باقي اللاعبين في أنحاء العالم”
