Warner Bros acquires Turbine (HP MMO?) شركة وارنر بروس تشتري شركة تربيون

Warner Bros. officially announced yesterday the acquisition of Turbine, Inc., the largest independent online gaming studio in North America, for around $160 million. Founded in 1994 and operating primarily in Boston, Turbine has created some of the most popular and exciting gaming worlds on the internet, including Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited, the free-to-play massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) and The Lord of the Rings Online, the first and only MMORPG based on the books of J.R.R. Tolkien.

Warner to publish the sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum وارنر ستنشر الجزء التالي من لعبة باتمان

Batman: Arkham Asylum videogame was a major hit in 2009, but the sequel will be published – not by Eidos – but by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment who announced that it will be the worldwide publisher of the sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum, currently in development by Rocksteady Studios and is based on DC Comics’ core Batman property.

We have searched the tubes to bring you a collection of the highest quality trailers shown at the Spike Video Game Awards 2009 a few hours ago. After the jump you’ll find the first batch of trailers premiered at last night’s awards ceremony.

UPDATE: Viacom apparently removed ALL the trailers posted on Youtube. We’ll try and find replacements, but don’t expect much on Youtube anytime soon.

Halo 3: ODST – 2.5 million served

So Bungie is reporting that 2,533,979 players have had about 47 million online games since ODST launched 2 weeks ago. Big numbers indeed, especially considering that Batman: Arkham Asylum has sold well over 2.5 million copies since launch. This begs the question, is the recession getting over?

ذكرت شركة ‘بنجي’ أنها سجلت قيام 2,533,979 لاعب بلعب 74 مليون مباراة Halo3:ODST (أونلاين) منذ إطلاقها من اسبوعين، وهو عدد كبير مقارنة بمبيعات لعبة ‘باتمان: أرخام أسيلام’ التي بلغت 2.5 مليون نسخة منذ إنطلاقها، مما يجعلنا نتسائل: هل تخطينا أزمة الكساد؟
