US weekly top selling iPhone games قائمة الألعاب الأعلى مبيعاً في الولايات المتحدة هذا الأسبوع

Every week, FingerGaming website compiles the top-grossing iPhone applications. This week (ending June 1st), the U.S. revenue charts see Angry Birds still enjoying the top spot, while EA’s games have jumped up the ranks, thanks to a generous price cut by EA.

Portal used to cost money, now it’s free. Until May 24th that is. End of story. That’s how Steam store puts it, and this time around, for the first time ever, Portal is free also on the Mac, using the new Steam client for the OSX, which was released recently. The drill is to lure Mac users into Steam Store, which now has over 50 games for Mac, along with insane discounts that go up to 70%.

The Humble Indie Bundle initiative is basically a gathering of games, and users can pay whatever they want in return for this bundle. Consisting of 5 indie games, the whole bundle supports all three major desktop platforms: Mac, Windows, and Linux. At the time of writing this, the total number of donations crossed 80,730, with an average of $8.50 per user, with a total amount of $686,545. Not bad at all for a bunch of indie games. Worth mentioning though is that a generous Arabian named Muhammad Haggag donated $500, way to go Muhammad!

Over one million iPads sold مبيع أكثر من مليون جهاز أي-باد

Apple announced today that they sold their one millionth iPad on Friday April 30, just 28 days after its introduction on April 3. iPad users have already downloaded over 12 million apps from the App Store and over 1.5 million ebooks from the new iBookstore. Developers have created over 5,000 new apps for the iPad, taking advantage of its multi-touch user interface, large screen and high-quality graphics. iPad will run almost all of the more than 200,000 apps on the App Store, including apps already purchased for your iPhone or iPod touch.

Brand value: Nintendo tops, Sony at the bottom ترتيب العلامات التجارية: ننتيندو في المقدمة وسوني في القعر

Market research firm Millward Brown recently released a report identifying the top 100 most valuable brands in the world. Your initial guesses of Google, IBM and Apple coming in at pole positions are right, but the top (and only) home console manufacturers are a different story.

Microsoft comes in at 4th position with a brand value of $76.3bn. Meanwhile Nintendo charts at 32 with a brand value of $17.8bn. Near the very end is Sony, sitting in at the 94th position with a brand value of $8.1bn. Obviously Microsoft has Windows and Office to thank for the 4th position, so head on after the jump for the real breakdown between the 3 console manufacturers.
