Project Natal = Kinect كينكت’ هو اسم ‘بروجكت ناتال’ الجديد ‘

According to Mike Snider from USA TODAY, what we used to know as Project Natal, will be officially called Kincet. Initially announced at Microsoft’s press conference at E3 2009 in L.A. by Steven Spielberg as Project Natal, Kincet will be unveiled during this week at E3 2010. Rumors have it that the price might be stupidly high enough to touch $189. We’ll know for sure after Microsoft’s press conference that’s about to start soon enough.

PS3 Reached 31% Market Share in Q1 2010 ’بلايستيشن 3’ تستحوذ على 31% من مبيعات سوق الألعاب في الربع الأول من 2010

Sony’s PlayStation 3 console increased its global market share of current generation consoles to 31% in Q1 2010, according to analysis published by the Strategy Analytics Connected Home Devices service. The report, “Games Consoles: Sony’s PS3 Increases Global Share In Q1 2010,” predicts that full year global sales of the PS3 will reach 14 million, compared to 17.5 million for Nintendo’s Wii and 10.5 million for Microsoft’s Xbox 360.

Games industry shrinking? هل تتراجع صناعة الألعاب؟

Market Research NPD Group has issued its industry results from April, showing that the whole video games market was down 26%  to $766.2M, and is down year-to-date by 11%. Annual Software sales fell by 22% to to $398.5M, and hardware seemed to get hit the hardest with a 37% decline to $249.3M. On the other hand, accessories fell by 9% to $118.4M. (more…)
