Linux gamers donate the most, and Arabs too! تبرعات لاعبي ‘لينكس’ هي الأعلى والعرب أيضا

The Humble Indie Bundle initiative is basically a gathering of games, and users can pay whatever they want in return for this bundle. Consisting of 5 indie games, the whole bundle supports all three major desktop platforms: Mac, Windows, and Linux. At the time of writing this, the total number of donations crossed 80,730, with an average of $8.50 per user, with a total amount of $686,545. Not bad at all for a bunch of indie games. Worth mentioning though is that a generous Arabian named Muhammad Haggag donated $500, way to go Muhammad!

Of interest though is the proportion of every platform and how much donations it generated. Linux users lead the way with $14.01 average contribution, followed by $9.80 Apple users and $7.32 for – you guessed it – Windows users. Those numbers mean that a single Linux user is donating twice as the average Windows user!

تبرعات لاعبي ‘لينكس’ والعرب هي الأعلى

جاءت مبادرة ‘Humble Indie Bundle عبارة عن مجموعة من 5 ألعاب تباع بالثمن الذي يحدده المستخدم، هذه الألعاب الخمسة تدعم أنظمة التشغيل الثلاثة ‘ماكينتوش’ و‘ويندوز’ و‘لينكس’. بلغ عدد المتبرعين 80,730 متبرعا -عند وقت كتابة هذا التقرير- بمتوسط 8.5 دولار أمريكي لكل متبرع، وبلغ إجمالي التبرعات 686,545 دولار أمريكي، وهو معدل لا بأس به على الإطلاق بالنسبة لمجموعة مطوري ألعاب مستقلين ناشئين صغار. الجدير بالذكر أن من ضمن التبرعات السخية، تبرع جاء من لاعب عربي اسمه ‘محمد حجاج’ وبلغت قيمته 500 دولار أمريكي. أحسنت يا محمد!

المثير للاهتمام هو نسبة التبرعات التي جاءت لكل نظام تشغيل، فقد تصدر مستخدمو ‘لينكس’ القائمة بمتوسط 14.01 دولار ويليهم مستخدمو ‘أبل’ بمعدل 9.8 دولار وجاء في المركز الثالث مستخدمو ‘ويندوز’. وهذه الأرقام تعني أن حجم تبرعات مستخدم ‘لينكس’ تفوق ضعف ما يقدمه مستخدم ‘ويندوز’.
