3DS is Nintendo’s biggest handheld platform ثري دي اس، أكبر جهاز لعب محمول من ننتيندو

“We have ideas of what we want to bring to the consumer that we can’t do with the current [DS model]“, said Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America President in an interview with Bloomberg. “The Nintendo 3DS for us is our next handheld platform.” Fils-Aime likened the 3DS’s debut to when Nintendo transitioned from the Game Boy to the DS. Since its introduction in November 2004, Nintendo’s DS sales have exceeded 125 million, according to Nintendo’s Web site. Game Boy, the company’s first handheld platform, sold more than 200 million units since the first model went on sale in 1989.

What shall make the 3DS so unique and unmatched, is its capability to display 3D objects without the need for special eye-glasses. Nintendo projects that the number of DS players sold would drop 3.8 percent to 30 million and software sales slump 24 percent in the 12 months ending March 31, 2011.

“لدينا الكثير من الأفكار عن الأمور التي يجب أن نقدمها لزبائننا، غير أن مواصفات جهاز DS الحالية لاتسمح بذلك” هذا ماجاء على لسان Reggie Fils-Aime، وهو مدير شركة Nintendo America، وذلك في مقابلة مع Bloomberg. ” بالنسبة لنا، فإن Nintendo 3DS هو جهازنا المحمول القادم”. يحب Fils-Aime أن يشبه الانتقال إلى الجهاز الجديد 3DS بعملية التحول من جهاز Game Boy إلى جهاز DS. فمنذ أن تم إطلاقه في الأسواق عام 2004، نجح Nintendo DS ببيع أكثر من 125 مليون جهاز، ووفقاً لموقع Nintendo الرسمي، فإن Game Boy حقق مبيع 200 مليون جهاز، منذ إطلاقه أول مرة عام 1989.

ما الذي سيجعل من جهاز 3DS فريداً وغير قابل للمقارنة، أعتقد أن السبب هو قدرته على عرض أجسام ثلاثية الأبعاد دون الحاجة لأية نظارات خاصة. وتتوقع Nintendo بأن مبيعات DS ستنخفض 3.8% لتصل إلى 30 مليون، ومبيعات برامجه ستنخفض 24% وذلك خلال 12 شهراً تنتهي في 31مارس 2011.
