Sony launches its Facebook MMO game: PoxNora سوني تطلق لعبة مغامرات اللعب الجماعي “بوكس نورا” على فيسبوك

In January 2009, Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) announced the acquisition of the PoxNora, an online collectible strategy game from Octopi, LLC (now known as SOE Tucson). Since then, the game has enjoyed steady expansion in reach and popularity with over 2.5 million registered accounts. PoxNora combines turn-based strategy elements with basic mechanics of a collectible card game. While the game is free-to-play initially, a player who wants to build his or her own deck needs to spend money at PoxNora’s item shop to acquire new cards, or “runes” in game terminology.

From micro-transactions to community play, SOE has customized the Facebook version of PoxNora to appeal to a wider social networking audience in a fun and engaging way. The new PoxNora for Facebook harnesses the platform’s social channels by allowing users to invite friends and post updates of accomplishments. SOE is launching the Facebook version of PoxNora at a time of tremendous growth in online social gaming. The success of social gaming is largely attributed to Facebook’s wild popularity and the maturing virtual goods business. PoxNora is a Java based game, showing inside the confines of the usual Facebook pages. It’s turn based, where players should move their units and decide their attacks before a set time. Early in the game the main objective is to destroy the opponent’s shrine, while securing fountains to gain more points and mana. SOE plans to follow this release with more social games, based on both existing IP and new properties.

سوني تطلق لعبة مغامرات اللعب الجماعي “بوكس نورا” على فيسبوك

في يناير من العام الماضي 2009، خرجت علينا شركة (Sony Online Entertainment) بخبر شرائها مطوري لعبة PoxNora، وهي لعبة استراتيجية تقوم على تجميع البطاقات الافتراضية، وهي من تصميم شركة Octopi, LLC (والتي أصبح اسمها الآن SOE Tucson). ومنذ ذلك الوقت واللعبة تتوسع وتزداد شعبيتها بشكل ثابت حتى وصلت لتسجيل 2.5 مليون حساب. تجمع لعبة PoxNora بين عناصر الألعاب الاستراتيجية التي تعتمد على الأدوار (مثل الشطرنج)، و عناصر ألعاب تجميع البطاقات. وفيما تعتبر اللعبة مبدئياً مجانية، إلا أنه يتوجب على اللاعب الذي يرغب ببناء مجموعته الخاصة من البطاقات، أن ينفق النقود من أجل شراء أشياء من متجر لعبة PoxNora، واقتناء بطاقات جديدة، أو “Runes” وفق مصطلحات اللعبة.

وهكذا فقد قامت شركة SOE بإجراء العديد من التعديلات على طريقة اللعب وتجهيز نسخة خاصة من PoxNora لتلائم الطيف الأوسع من مستخدمي شبكة التواصل الاجتماعي Facebook وذلك بشكل جذاب ومرح. وتستغل النسخة الخاصة من PoxNora إمكانيات Facebook من خلال جعل مستخدمي اللعبة يقومون بدعوة اصدقائهم ومشاركتهم بما استطاعوا تحقيقه والوصول إليه في اللعبة. ويأتي الوقت الذي تنشر فيه SOE النسخة الخاصة من لعبتها لموقع Facebook متزامناً مع نمو كبير في سوق ألعاب الانترنت الاجتماعية. ولعل السبب في نجاح هذه الألعاب يعود إلى شعبية موقع Facebook الكبيرة ونضوج الأعمال التي تعتمد على بيع المنتجات التخيلية الخاصة بتلك الألعاب. لتجريب اللعبة الجديدة PoxNora على الفيسبوك،، توجه إلى apps.facebook.com/poxnora.

تعتمد لعبة PoxNora على لغة Java البرمجية، وتظهر ضمن صفحات الفيسبوك العادية. وهي من نمط اللعب بالدّور turn-based، حيث يتوجب على اللاعبين تحريك وحداتهم وتقرير الهجمات قبل انقضاء وقت محدد. الهدف الرئيسي من اللعبة هو تدمير معبد الخصم Shrine، والاستحواذ على نوافير الطاقة (مانا) لتزويدك بالمزيد من النقاط و الـ”mana”. تنوي شركة SOE أن تُتبع هذه اللعبة بالمزيد من الألعاب الجماعية التي من تصميمها.
