New Super Mario Bros. Wii 10 million served لعبة سوبرماريو بروس الجديدة تبيع 10 مليون نسخة

Back in November of last year, Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime claimed that NSMB Wii will outsell Activision’s behemoth Modern Warfare 2. He claimed this result to achieve over time, not the year end 31st December 2009. Some mere 8 weeks after launch, NSMB Wii has a worldwide sales tally of 10 million units. Of this, US contributed 4.5 million units, followed by Japan with 3 million and Europe catching up with nearly 3 million in sales as well.

Assuming that each unit was sold for the regular price of $49.99, thats almost $500 million in sales revenue. A big number, but dwarfed in comparison to Activision’s recently announced Modern Warfare 2 sales of $1 billion. Keep in mind that the Modern Warfare 2 retails for $60, the Hardened Edition for $80 and the ludicrous Prestige Edition for $150. Also, the game was available on PC, PS3 and X360. With all that in perspective, the sales of NSMB Wii look mighty impressive, and it’s only a matter of time before it surpasses Modern Warfare 2’s sales.

لعبة سوبرماريو بروس الجديدة على Wii تحقق مبيعات قدرها 10 مليون نسخة

في شهر نوفمبر من العام الماضي، أكدت مصادر من شركة ننتيندو بأن لعبة  Super Mario Bros لجهاز Wii ستتفوق من حيث المبيعات على لعبة شركة Activision الساحقة Modern Warfare 2. وقال أن النتائج ستظهر مع مرور الوقت وليس مع مجرد انتهاء العام في 31 ديسمبر 2009. فمع 8 أسابيع من المبيعات منذ إطلاقها، استطاعت لعبة NSMB Wii تحقيق 10 ملايين نسخة مباعة، منها 4.5 مليون نسخة في الولايات المتحدة، ومن ثم اليابان 3 مليون نسخة، وأخيراً أوربا بمبيعات تقترب من ثلاث ملايين نسخة ايضاً.

وبافتراض أن كل نسخة قد بيعت بالسعر الاعتيادي 49.99$. فهذا يعني قرابة 500 مليون دولار من أرقام المبيعات، وهو رقم ضخم حقيقة، لكنه يتضاءل أمام رقم مبيعات Modern Warfare 2 الذي بلغ 1 بليون دولار فقط. مع التنبيه الى أن سعر مبيع لعبة Modern Warfare 2 هو 60$، والنسخة الخاصة 80$ والنسخة الممتازة 150$. كما أن اللعبة متوفرة على أجهزة PC, PS3, Xbox360. ومع أخذ كل ماسبق بعين الاعتبار فمن الواضح أن مبيعات NSMB Wii تستحق الإعجاب، ولعل الموضوع هو موضوع وقت قبل أن تتفوق مبيعاتها على مبيعات Modern Warfare 2.
